Hours:
Schedules are posted 2 weeks ahead of time.
​
At least 40 hours per week. Required overtime varies and can be significant.

Monday 4:45 AM start, 8 to 12 hour day
-
Tuesday 4:45 AM start, 8 to 12 hour day
-
Wednesday: typically not worked
-
Thursday 4:45 AM start, 7 to 10 hour day
-
Friday 4:45 AM start, 8 to 12 hour day
-
Saturday 5:45 AM start, 6 to 7 hour day alternating on rotation

Main Responsibilities:

Perform multiple tasks involved in the hatchery production of broiler chicks
-
Clean and sanitize equipment
-
Keep pace to complete the work efficiently and to finish on-time as a team
-
Other duties as assigned​

Ability to learn and then perform the tasks involved in the hatchery production of broiler chicks

Repetitively lifting objects weighing 25-30 lbs from the floor to six feet above the floor

Pushing 800 lb. racks safely

Ability to learn safety guidelines and follow them.

Ability to understand the overall flow of a process involving coworkers

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
-
Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for the whole shift
-
Ability to work in various environments (cool, warm, dusty, wet)
-
Mostly indoor work with occasional outdoor work
-
Ability to work while standing, squatting, kneeling and sitting
-
Ability to learn SOPs and follow them while using practical judgement
-
Ability to learn safety guidelines and follow them
-
Ability to do basic arithmetic​​

Physical Requirements​

Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Able to repetitively lift objects weighing 25-30 lbs. from the floor to six feet above the floor for prolonged periods

Able to stand and walk on concrete floors for the whole shift

Able to push 800 lb. racks safely
