Full-Time Night Shift General Laborer

​Up to $18.80/hour plus:

​Hours:

Training for several weeks on day shift Monday through Friday (start and end times to be determined)

50+ hours per week. Hours over 40 are paid at 1.5X. 

​

  • Monday 6:30 PM to 5:00* AM 

  • Tuesday 6:30 PM to 5:00* AM 

  • Wednesday 6:30 PM to 5:00* AM 

  • Thursday 6:30 PM to 5:00* AM 

  • Friday 6:30 PM to 5:00* AM

*may be required to stay until 5:15 AM when communication is necessary with maintenance arriving as late as 5:00 AM.

Main Responsibilities: 

Provide primary coverage to our incubator and hatcher alarm system with some diagnostic capabilities and basic repairs (taught through training). Make record of alarms on a log.  

​​

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Light maintenance responsibilities such as machine status logs, swapping out air filters, greasing rack wheels, and interstitial walkthrough

  • Washing and disinfecting of various hatchery components (fogging, washing incubators, fans, hatcher fronts, coveralls, running the floor scrubber)

  • Janitorial responsibilities of our office and common areas

  • Some general labor duties including helping our drivers unload, washing boxes, filling farm racks and traying eggs

  • Other duties as assigned​

Essential Job Functions

  • Fluent in English (Advanced)

  • Hunger to learn continually

  • Some mechanical aptitude

  • Reliable and consistent attendance

  • Reliable transportation

  • Flexible to adjust work schedule based on company's needs as we grow to provide more coverage for nights and weekends upon hiring a second Night Shift General Laborer

  • Able to learn SOPs and follow them while using practical judgement and critical thinking

  • Able to learn safety guidelines and follow them

  • Able to work well independently and communicate reliably with maintenance and management

  • Able to work under pressure

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for the whole shift

  • Ability to work in various environments (cool, warm, dusty, wet)

  • Mostly indoor work with occasional outdoor work

  • Ability to work while standing, sitting, squatting, and kneeling

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Able to do basic arithmetic

  • Ability to regulate downtime and a task list effectively and independently

  • Ability to be responsive to the changing needs of the hatchery

  • Ability to communicate well especially by phone
